Civil/Structural Engineer (Full Time)

MRD Associates, Inc. has an immediate full time opening for an experienced and highly motivated Civil/Structural Engineer to assist with the growing demand for our services in the Florida Panhandle. Representative work includes a wide range of challenging coastal projects including marinas, small-craft harbors, waterfront developments, and marina related amenities; coastal and marine structures such as bulkheads, revetments, docks, breakwaters and piers; FEMA Flood Studies for LOMR’s and reestablishment of VE Zones.

Job Description

  • Manage all aspects of multiple projects and deliver on-time and under budget.
  • Conduct field investigations, data collection and analysis, develop engineering feasibility studies, perform engineering and design, and provide construction phase services.
  • Provide personalized services to our clients from concept and design, to delivery.
  • Possess an ability and desire to market the firm to bring in new work.
  • Some travel is required.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Ocean, Structural or related discipline. (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Engineering Intern (E.I.) licensed in Florida or, ability to obtain licensing within 6 months of employment. (P.E. preferred)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the analysis and design of coastal structures, foundations, and pile-supported structures.
  • Proficiency in applying the Coastal Engineering Manual, and an in depth understanding of the coastal and marine environment.
  • Knowledge of latest AISC, ACI, ASCE and AWS Codes and Standards.
  • Proficiency in computers and experience with structural analysis software (i.e. STAAD).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter, energetic, creative, able to set priorities, and works well individually and as part of a team.
  • A U.S. citizen or, hold a permanent work Visa (required).
